From the 16th to the 20th March, Sligo is going to come alive with celebrations of all things foodie within our local culture. There will be events for folks of all ages. Be the first to get involved in designing a ‘New Signature Dish for Ireland‘, compete in ‘The World Irish Stew Competition‘ and as well for teenagers there will be the ‘Connaught Gold Junior Chef Competition’
The Só Sligo venues will be welcoming guests in with amazing rates and great hospitality. There will also be lots of entertainment for music fans, with promises of 4 full nights of music gigs in hotels, restaurants, cafés and bars.
The atmosphere will be alive with the Food Village and the ‘Come to the Street Party‘ on O’ Connell Street, Sligo’s best dancers and live traditional music will keep the crowds entertained for the afternoon.
Many of the highlights include a ‘Seaweed Identification Walk‘ in Strandhill on March 16th, an excursion the Deer Farm at Coopershill House, Riverstown, Co. Sligo to see where deer are raised. A guided tour through Yeats Country to get a glimpse at W. B. Yeats’ inspiration and a visit to the Model Gallery to see the Jack B. Yeats exhibition.
